Non-invasive Skin Rejuvenation and Toning

The information provided by Advanced Healthcare for Women and E. Daniel Biggerstaff, III, M.D. is for informational purposes only. As each woman is unique, do not rely on this information for diagnosis and treatment. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of the content and advise that you see a qualified Health Care Professional for individual needs and care.

The natural process of aging causes the skin to look older. Environmental factors such as sun exposure, every-day stress, and cigarette smoke accelerate this process. Using a combination of two lasers, the Lyra™ YAG and Aura™ KTP, offers patients a non-invasive alternative to surgical face-lifts. Treatment of age/sun spots, small blood vessels, and rosacea will be done at the same time as the toning.

How does it work?

The laser energy passes through the outer layer of the skin without any significant effect. In the lower layers of the dermis, the laser causes production of collagen. An increase in collagen causes tightening of the skin and reduction of wrinkles.

How many treatments are necessary?

The average number of treatments is 3-6 with 4-6 weeks between treatment sessions.

How long are treatment sessions?

Most sessions last 15-20 minutes, occasionally shorter or longer. Each session is customized to the individual patient’s needs.

How long will the effects of the treatments last?

Long-term results can be expected, but there is variation between individual patients. It is very important to avoid the environmental factors that can damage your skin, such as sun exposure. A daily sun block should be used along with proper skin-care products.

What should I expect after the treatment?

You can expect a mild sunburn sensation and swelling that may last a day or so.
