Laser technology can minimize the redness and bruising normally associated with other treatments of unsightly veins. The Lyra™ (YAG) Laser can treat women of any ethnic origin and skin tone including tanned skin.

How does it work?

The laser energy is absorbed by the pigment in your blood and collapses the unwanted vein. The laser energy is delivered through a hand-held device with a cooling tip that protects your skin.

When will you see results?

The appearance of leg veins will either dramatically fade or completely disappear during the treatment. Some vessels may show temporary swelling that will subside after a few hours to a few days. The redness of the treated vessels will gradually disappear as the healing process occurs. This may take between two and eight weeks.

How often can you have it done?

Most patients see excellent improvement after just two treatments. Everyone responds differently to treatments, with some needing only one treatment and others requiring a second or third treatment. You can optimize your results by closely following the post treatment instructions. The usual treatment interval is eight weeks.

Are there any side effects?

Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness in the treated area. The redness usually dissipates within one to three days. Also, although it is not the intended purpose of this particular treatment, hair growth may be impaired in the treated area.

How long does it take?

Most treatments will take between 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated. Prescribed topical anesthetics should be applied 30-90 minutes before the treatment time (this is greatly encouraged to increase your comfort).
